Introducing...

Baby Boy Merkley! Yay! We always hoped for a boy first!

Teaser

I had a change of heart a few days before the ultrasound. My life-long desire to have my baby's gender be a surprise completely flew out the window and my desire to plan and nest took over.

In the next few days we'll try to get the pictures scanned in and we'll announce whether our baby is the kind that wears pink or the kind that wears blue. Just know, I am thrilled with which kind it is!

My First Giveaway

I saw this on Kasey's blog, and wanted to join but worried I wouldn't be able to think of anything cool to make. But when I saw it again on Jana's blog I decided with an entire year I should be able to think of something cool!

The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me!
My choice.For you.

This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
2. What I create will be just for you.
3. It'll be done this year.The catch?

Oh, the catch is that you must re-post this on your own blog and offer the same deal to 5 of your own lucky blog readers.

A Dress To Get Fat In

I decided since I'm 4 1/2 months along it's time to start sewing maternity clothes.  I made this dress in just a few short hours out of super comfy bamboo jersey knit, and I really like how it turned out.  And it has lots of room for growth!!

Valentines Love-liness

We had such a great Valentine's Day! Our good friends, Blake and Kayla, flew in from Vegas for the weekend and we all spent the weekend in San Francisco together with Brooke and CB. Friday night we went to delicious Thai food (yum...I love Thai!).

Saturday the girls went to see "He's Just Not That Into You" (adorable by the way) and the guys went to see an action flick. Everybody's happy! After dinner the men (but mostly Christian because he is a fabulous chef) cooked the ladies a delicious dinner of roast, sauteed green beans, and this to die for concoction with butter beans, tomatoes, cilantro, bread crumbs and goat cheese that I don't even know how to describe. Delicious.

Being the adorable hostess that she is, Brooke planned out every detail down to flowers, candlelight, name cards, and fun Valentine's goodie bags.

Dessert was the most amazing caramel banana cream pie with chocolate shavings on top. Seriously...it was fantastic! I've been craving it ever since.

We were so glad to get to spend Vday with some of our favorite people. Mel and Nate, you were missed!

Valentine's Fun

I forgot I made these cards last year for Vday (when I was going through one of many of my felt obsession phases). I found them when I was digging through supplies last night to make a paper heart garland. Valentine's really is a fun holiday, isn't it?

Last Weekend

Last weekend we drove to San Fran to spend some time with Brooke and Christian.  We went out to an amazing dinner in SF, had a blast playing "Ticket to Ride", and Brooke and I had a great time shopping at the flea market.  On the drive home Brendon and I took the relaxing, scenic route down Highway 1.  We stopped for an hour or so in Half Moon Bay and enjoyed the waves and the weather.  Brendon had fun playing with his camera.  Relaxing weekends like this are so rare with Bren in business school, so they are definitely treasured!

Why I've Been MIA

I have been a terrible, terrible blogger lately because I have been really busy.  I took on a second part time job.  I am sewing for Ludwiga's Linen.  It is great because I can do it at home and it is flexible.  Right now I am cranking out these lavender sachets for her.  One benefit: my house always smells like lavender now!

Finished Top

A few weeks back I finished piecing the top to my Quilt Exchange quilt.  I like how it turned out, and I am glad to have it finished.  I always feel so good when I finish something.  Now I just have to actually add a backing and quilt and bind it.  I wouldn't hold your breath for that to happen anytime soon!
