Six Days Old

My father in law caught this sweet smile on his iphone.

And my talented friend, Ashlee, took these fun photos a few days ago.

You Have To Watch This

I am not a you tube-er...but this one really is worth watching.  It makes me want to get married all over again.

Hilarious wedding video

Photo Op

Brendon took these adorable pictures of Little Man while I was napping.

Home Sweet Home

We brought Beckham home from the hospital Friday afternoon.  It felt wonderful to be home after being in the hospital since Monday.  It is quite exciting/fun/surreal/scary to have him home.  He is such a well-behaved baby so far.

Finally Here

After enduring a 24 hour exhausting labor that resulted in a cesarean section delivery, we were rewarded with this cute Little Man.  He was born at 3:05 am on July 22nd at 21 inches long and 8 pounds 8 ounces.  He has loads of dark hair like his mom, and we think his features are very much a combination of Leishman and Merkley traits.  So far his first day he mostly sleeps and looks around exploringly.  We totally love him already - but have a hard time believing he is really ours.  He is still yet to be named, but we are narrowing down the choices and will for sure have made a selection by the time we leave the hospital this weekend.

Other Sewing We've Been Doing...

My mom and I made this little sailor outfit for Little Man's blessing day.  It's not totally finished - we want to add some cute nautical buttons to the front.  My mom deserves thanks for helping me because I made her do some of the more boring sewing parts.

Nursery

I finally finished my baby bedding this past week.  I decided to go with a seersucker with red accents for a subtly patriotic look.  I made a matching bedspread for the twin bed in the nursery...but I am still trying to decide how to get a few more red accents in the nursery.  Maybe I'll post more photos after I finish that.

July 17th

My due date came and went in a relatively uneventful fashion unfortunately.  So now at 40 weeks and a day we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Little Man.

Cravings

People have asked me my whole pregnancy if I've had any cravings. I would have to say not really. Actually, the only few times I thought I would just die if I didn't have something it was for fresh, raw veggies - so I drove to the closest salad bar and loaded up.
But - during my pregnancy there have been foods that sounded really yummy and I left myself give in more often than I would have if not pregnant. Nothing crazy here, people...I tried to be somewhat healthy/restrictive...but I also thought it was fun to live a little.

My first trimester this is what always sounded good:
After my first trimester ended, my sweet tooth returned and these sounded amazing the rest of my pregnancy:

And now that it is hot outside and Palo Alto doesn't believe in installing air conditioning units in apartments I have allowed myself to have one of these a few times a week. I am sure they are terrible for me - but they sure cool me down from the inside out!

Our Makeshift Spontaneous Babymoon

This summer has been somewhat of a challenge.   Brendon's investment banking internship requires him to work around the clock, which amounts to the fact that we see each other once a week if we're lucky.  I don't say this to elicit pity - just to make it understood how much more this weekend was appreciated by me.

I told Brendon I would meet him in San Fran and maybe we could catch a late dinner as it would most likely be our last date before we have to start hiring babysitters.  Brendon one-upped me and made reservations at a gorgeous hotel and spa in Sausalito.  He left work at 9 pm and we had dinner at The Spinnaker (where we ate the night before our wedding) and we spent a relaxing evening in a beautiful hotel.  Saturday morning we had brunch in town and Brendon booked us massages at the spa before he had to return to work that afternoon.

It was such a lovely evening/morning that I smiled all the rest of the day Saturday.  It is amazing how when you don't usually get any time together, a few hours can feel like a whole wonderful weekend!

38 Weeks

Here's a picture from a few days ago on my 38th week mark.  I can't believe it is only a matter of days before this baby arrives.

HAPPY JULY

I love July! The only month I love more is August (because it's my birthday month and I'm so self-absorbed like that - ha ha). I love the patriotism, the fireworks, the boating, the bbq's, the stars and stripes,...

And soon we'll have one more reason to love this month. Happy baby month to us! Hopefully he'll be here in 16 days (or less wouldn't be too bad either).
